“Mindfulness is just awareness, pure awareness and therefore is accessible to all of us, and is simply a part of being human”

Jon Kabat Zinn

Mindfulness is a powerful practice that allows us to shift our perspective, inviting us to notice, with curiosity, what is arising in the present moment. We have a huge amount of innate wisdom in our bodies and by gaining a greater understanding of how we feel we can improve our sense of wellbeing.

“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy”

Friedrich Nietzsche

By paying attention to the present moment we create a greater understanding of how our thoughts impact feelings and feelings impact our thoughts. Practicing mindfulness as we move, allows us to deepen our sense of mind-body connection by directing the mind to the body and breath. This provides the mind with something to pay attention to and helps reduce ruminations – turning down the volume of the monkey mind chatter!

Mindful Movement Method classes encourage curiosity through movement and provide a playful and effective method of improving mind-body awareness. They are also an amazing form of exercise with many physiological benefits.

For those who feel that they are not flexible enough for yoga please note…

Yoga is about sensation and not shape. There is nowhere to get to and no end destination. Yoga is the journey and it is accessible to everyone and every body type. Each person is different and so each practice will look and feel different for us all. There are so many benefits to practicing yoga and mindful movement and through regular practice we can develop awareness and tools to support our own health and wellbeing. It’s the ultimate selfcare!

Mindful Movement Method classes encourage you to get out of your head and into your body with a focus on Yoga for mental health. Classes are trauma sensitive.
