A little bit about me
I’m Nadyne and I’m the Founder of Mindful Movement Method. I specialise in mindful movement methods and breathing techniques, based in Tunbridge Wells.
Following a corporate career, I left the City in 2008, re-trained, and set up my own business supporting clients on their journey to improved health and fitness. Since then I have been teaching movement, yoga and breathing techniques one to one, in studios, and in corporate companies.
I’m currently studying for a Masters in Health Psychology and work as a Yoga Therapist with people experiencing chronic health conditions, and with clinical populations in acute mental health services.
I am a mum of two, plus one Cockapoo and I enjoy pottery, sober raving and cinnamon buns!
Breath
I spent many years living in a state of chronic anxiety, holding my breath and re-living a fear response in my body. Although taking therapy was incredibly helpful, it wasn’t until I acknowledged the impact of the nervous system and the power of the breath that changes began to occur.
The breath directly influences our nervous system which impacts all our feelings, our thinking, our memories, all our perceptions and sensations. When we learn to breathe effectively we increase positive feeling whilst optimising cellular oxygenation. Changing the breath creates the ideal and optimum environment to change our thinking. The breath is key to improved health and wellbeing.
Movement
I love to move! I used to love it so much I’d exercise through injury, rarely take rest and never listen to my body.
Then I discovered yoga and mindful movement and I stopped forcing and started listening.
Giving myself the space to pause and breathe allowed me to finally understand what mindful movement means. It doesn’t mean you can’t be strong and it doesn’t mean only doing yoga. It means allowing yourself to be curious about what your body needs.
Every body moves differently. Mindful Movement Method encourages curiosity through movement, exploring sensation and developing awareness of how our bodies work best…for us.
Mindful Movement is an effective and playful method of safely improving mind-body awareness.
I teach movement based classes privately and to companies as part of Corporate Wellbeing programmes.
Mind
Mental health impacts us all. There is no health without good mental health.
I know what it’s like to live with anxiety and I have a deep understanding of the impact of chronic stress on daily life and physical health. I passionately believe that we all have the right to thrive and feel good, and that an integrative and holistic approach to healthcare is what is desperately needed to address chronic physical and mental health conditions.
I am a fully insured Yoga Therapist. I work in collaboration with GPs, Psychotherapists and Physiotherapists.
